CSF Application

FALL Semester Applications Accepted: September 1 - 30

SPRING Semester Applications Accepted: February 1 - 28

(Submit grades from the previous semester)

Requirements for Semester MembershipThe student must apply for membership during an enrollment period established by the advisor during the first four weeks of the semester.  Applications are available in the VHS Library, or click on the application link above to print an application form.

The application is based upon a point system and students must earn 10 points minimum in order to qualify, A=3 points, B=1 point, C=0 points, with no grades lower than a C.  (AP and Honors courses get one extra point, but a student may only have up to two extra points.)

Students must qualify 4 of 6 semesters (10th-12th grades); one semester must be during their senior year, in order to become a life member or Sealbearer.

Awards:  Students who become life members (Sealbearer or Gold Sealbearer) will receive a gold CSF seal on their diploma, a gold cord and CSF medallion, and be recognized as a CSF Life Member at both graduation and senior awards night.  Life members also become eligible for CSF scholarships.

When:  Applications are available following the end of each semester.  There is a one month window to get your application, fees, and transcripts/grades turned in.  Late applications will not be accepted. CSF is not retroactive—if you miss a semester you cannot go back and apply for a semester in the past.

10th grade students apply for CSF for the first time in the spring (second semester) by submitting a copy of their first semester fall report card grades or transcripts with their application.

Fees:  There is a $5.00 fee per semester.  The fees pay for CSF dues, cords and medallions.  Cash or checks payable to “VHS CSF” are submitted to the student store.  Staple your receipt to your application and transcript.
