Who is my Counselor and How do I see them?

How do I join an Athletic Team?

1. Joining an Athletic Team requires a GPA of 2.0, getting a physical from a Dr. yearly and attending team tryouts

How will I locate my classes?

2. Student Schedules are located on Q- Q Connect
3. Students can always get their schedules from the Guidance Office at VHS.

What is the Dress Code?

1. Here is Ventura High School’s Official Dress Code- Student Handbook.
2. Students may not wear clothing that references drugs, alcohol, or are gang affiliated.

How do I join a Club?

What Bus can I take to and from School?

1. Look up your students route and bus number in Traversa.
2. You can call Transportation and get your student signed up for Transportation. 805-641-5000 ext. 1320.

Where can my parents drop me off and pick me up from school?

1. Parents can drop off on Catalina, in front of the school
2. Parents can drop off at the corner of Seaward and Poli
3. Parents can drop off at the bus stop on Main St. by the Softball Fields.

Can I ride my e-bike, bicycle or skateboard to school?

1. Absolutely!
2. E-Bikes are regulated by our campus SRO, to ensure they are street legal and safe for students to ride. 
3. Students must adhere to safety protocol and city regulations when riding an e-bike, bicycle or skateboard to school.

Can I use my cell phone and or airpods while at school?

1. Students may have their cell phone and air pods on their body or backpack while at school.
2. Students may not use their cell phone or listening devices while in class.
3. The district has a No Cell Phone Policy

What happens if I forget my lunch or PE clothes at home?

1. Parents can drop off student belongings in the attendance office, and the office will contact the student to retrieve their belongings.
2. Lunch provided by the cafeteria is free to all VUSD students.
3. Loaner PE clothes are available in both the Women's locker room and the Men's locker room.

Can students leave campus for lunch?

1. Juniors and Seniors may apply for an off campus lunch pass

• Students must have a 2.0 GPA
• Students must have good attendance and behavior

2. Freshman and Sophomores must  remain on campus until after lunch ends.

Who can I talk to about Emotional Support?

1. Talk to your counselor
2. Go to our VHS Wellness Center
3. Talk to a Teacher or Other Adult on Campus
4. Talk to an Administrator

Is the library open after school or during break/lunch?

2. The VHS library is open to students M-F 8 am- 4 pm.

Does VHS offer after school Tutoring?

1. Yes!
2. Assets- Tutoring is available in the Cafeteria M-F 2:30 pm- 5:30 pm.
