The first high school in the City of Ventura

The Original Ventura High School Building

VHS was the first High School established in the City of Ventura. The first classes were held in the 1st–8th grade Plaza School, which is now the site of the Downtown U. S. Post Office. 

The first dedicated VHS building on Ann Street is now home to Lincoln Elementary School. The second building VHS occupied and shared with Ventura Junior College is now home to Cabrillo Middle School.
